Fall 2025 Outdoor Pursuits Trips
We've got a huge semester of trips and workshops ahead of us and we want to see you there! From the serene lakes of the Adirondacks to the stunning mountains of the Smokies, we've got an adventure for you! Day Trips
Tinker Falls Hike
Start the semester off right with this chill day hike at Tinker Falls! Enjoy the waterfall and kick back in a hammock as you take in the early Fall colors!

Moonlight Paddle
Who says you need the sun to have a great time on the water! Join us as we head to the Upper Little York Lake for a night of paddling under a full moon!

Little Falls Climbing
Fall in Little Falls? Count us in! Come scale the cliffs along the Mohawk River on this perfect introduction to outdoor climbing trip!

Dwyer Paddling
Who doesn’t love a Fall day on the lake? Grab a paddle and hop in the boat as we head out on the water for a relaxing day of paddling just down the road!

Watkins Glen Hike
A classic spot here in the Finger Lakes, Watkins Glen has got all of your outdoor needs! Come on out as we hike this beautiful location in our backyard.

Taughannock/Lucifer falls
Why hike one waterfall when you can hike many! We’re headed over to Ithaca to enjoy both the tallest waterfall in New York and a whole separate gorge full of waterfalls!

Overnight Trips
Mount Marcy Backpack
So you want to do a high peak? Well why not do the highest of em! Come hike Mount Marcy, the tallest peak in New York, for an awesome adventure!

Fish Creek Paddling
Like the idea of backpacking but not the idea of all that walking? Well why don’t we try it in a canoe! Join us as we pond hop around fish creek and enjoy the back country waterways of Upstate New York.

Cherry Springs Stargazing
Darkest sky east of the Mississippi! That’s Cherry Springs claim to fame and the reason we’re headed down there! Don’t miss this magical night under a lit up night sky.

Acadia National Park Adventure
Acadia. We know it, you know it, now time to go see it! Acadia is one of the most beautiful National Parks on the East Coast and we’re going to have the opportunity to explore it in depth over Fall break! Not one to miss out on!

Ontario Bike-Packing
Like the idea of backpacking but not the idea of all that walking? Like the idea of paddling but not the idea of water? Well why don’t you try it on a bike! Join us as we bike along the coast of Lake Ontario, camping all along the way!

Fire Tower Challenge Hike
We here at Outdoor Pursuits love a good challenge, and this is one of the best (not just because you get a patch at the end)! We’re headed into the Catskills to hike the 6 fire towers in the region! Join us for this test of endurance and enjoyment of a beautiful location!

Thacher Climbing
We love reaching new heights and Thacher State Park has exactly what we’re looking for! Join us as we climb at this awesome local crag and stay at Brauer Field Station, another Cortland spot!

National Park Extravaganza
We wanted to go out with a bang this semester and what better way to do that than to go to five National Parks on one trip! We’ll be hitting the trail in the New River Gorge, delving into the depths of Mammoth Cave, reaching to the sky in the Great Smoky Mountains, paddling the waters of Congaree, and enjoying the serenity of the Shenandoah. Join us for the trip of all trips!

Lead Clinic
Date: Sept. 22nd, Oct. 21st, Nov. 19th.

Take your climbing to the next level with this lead climbing clinic! Must be belay certified prior to the clinic and be able to climb the top rope wall multiple times.
Cortland Crux Boulder Competition
Date: Dec. 5th
Meeting time: 5:30pm

The Cortland Crux Bouldering Competition is returning to campus! Earn points for each climb you do. Your top climbs could win you a prize and a seat on the podium!
