Edward H. Olivari ’49 and John Reardon ’50 will received the Outstanding Alumni Volunteer Award on Saturday, July 17, during the SUNY Cortland Alumni Reunion.

The SUNY Cortland men’s and women’s intercollegiate athletic program finished in 17th place Directors’ Cup competition among the approximately 440 eligible NCAA Division III programs.

The Trapper’s Cabin at SUNY Cortland’s Camp Huntington along Raquette Lake will be officially dedicated as the Sheltmire Cabin aka Trapper’s Cabin in honor of Jack Sheltmire M ’73, who recently retired after 10 years as director of the College’s Center for Environmental and Outdoor Education.

Rho Phi Lambda, the national honor society in the field of recreation, parks and leisure services, will recognize Lindsey J. Brown, a recent graduate from SUNY Cortland, as the 2010 Outstanding Graduate Student.

Nearly 600 alumni and friends are expected to enjoy class get-togethers, parties and other activities on campus during the 2010 Alumni Reunion Weekend from July 16-18.

SUNY Cortland’s Communication Disorders and Sciences Department is looking for adults who stutter to participate in a research study. Those ranging in age from 18 to 70 years are eligible.

SUNY Cortland will unveil its newly designed website to the campus community on Tuesday afternoon, June 29.

Twelve senior physical education majors at SUNY Cortland were recognized with Lenore K. Alway/Anthony P. Tesori Awards for their outstanding work in student teaching in New York state schools during the Spring 2010 semester.

Heather Bridge, a seasoned early childhood educator who taught at SUNY Cortland for 10 years, will retire on Aug. 31. She has been designated as assistant professor emerita of childhood/early childhood education.

Robert L. Rubendall, who has spent 30 years overseeing environmental and experiential education at highly respected institutions in New England and Wisconsin, was named the director of outdoor education at SUNY Cortland on June 1.
