SUNY Cortland will hold a Sept. 11 Remembrance Ceremony at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 11, on the steps of Corey Union.
The memorial event will be moved to the building's Function Room in the event of rain.
Clergy will offer reflections at the gathering. The ceremony also will honor SUNY Cortland alumni who died in the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. Participants will be given the opportunity to offer their personal reflections at a microphone.
This year, the SUNY Cortland Emergency Squad has organized the event and invited all the emergency service departments in the community to come with their vehicles and be a part of the ceremony. So far, the Cortland Fire Department, TLC, the Cortland County Sheriff's Department, along with the University Police Department, will be represented.
