New York Jets Choose SUNY Cortland for Summer Training Camp

Gov. David A. Paterson today announced that the New York Jets will hold their 2009 Training Camp at the campus of SUNY Cortland generating millions in economic activity for Central New York and drawing thousands of people to Cortland this summer. Gov. Paterson made the announcement in SUNY Cortland’s historic Hall of Fame Room where he was joined by New York Jets Owner Woody Johnson and SUNY Cortland President Erik Bitterbaum, as well as business leaders, and State and local elected officials.

Activist, Author Joel Kovel to Speak On Earth Week April 21

Joel Kovel, a controversial author, activist and faculty member at Bard College, will deliver one of three planned lectures at SUNY Cortland during "Earth Week: What on Earth is a Green Economy?" from April 21-24. Organized by the campus organization Cortland Students Advocating a Valuable Environment (CSAVE), the presentations all begin at 7:30 p.m. and are free and open to the public.

Activists to Screen Their Documentary on April 20 in Old Main

Well-known poet, journalist and activist Irakli Kakabadze and his wife Anna Dolidze, a human rights lawyer, both from the Republic of Georgia, will be screening their documentary, "At the Top of My Voice," on Monday, April 20 at SUNY Cortland. The film, which is free and open to the public, will be shown at 7 p.m. in Old Main Brown Auditorium.
