Degree Progress Timeline
- First year
- Fall: get involved and join the Physics and Engineering Club
- Spring: enroll in Physics Seminar (PHY 404) where you will learn about a range of interesting topics in contemporary physics and get to know the senior physics students
- Second year
- Consider joining a research project with a professor - come talk to us about our research!
- Consider adding a minor or second major - many physics students get a minor in Mathematics or even a major in Mathematics
- Third year
- Start looking into grad schools and/or career opportunities
- Apply for summer internships or research experiences
- Fourth year
- Fall: apply to grad schools, take the GRE, etc.
- Spring:
- APH, APM, and PHY students: apply for degree conferral
- PEN students: apply to maintain student status after transferring
- Post-graduation
