Bowers Hall houses 62 science laboratories and the biological sciences, chemistry, geology and physics departments. In the main lobby there is an animal display and an informational exhibit on the university's outdoor education facility.

35 Graham Avenue

Bus Stop

The campus bus stop is across the street (Graham Avenue) from Brockway Hall. The North Entrance is the closest accessible entrance from the bus stop (approximately 500 feet). Two of the eight campus buses are accessible, with wheelchair lifts and securement areas (an area inside the bus designated for riders using mobility devices; straps and clamps ensure a safe ride). Parking

Accessible parking is in the back or east side of Brockway Hall immediately adjacent to the accessible entrance. There are two accessible parking spots with access aisles.

Doors

There are two accessible entrances to Brockway Hall, one on the east side or rear of the building, and one on the north side. Both entrances have automatic doors wide enough for wheelchair use. The north entrance has a small lip on the threshold to enter and a shallow ramp down the hallway once inside. The east entrance is immediately adjacent to accessible parking. The north entrance is the nearest accessible entrance to the bus stop.

Registration/Check-in Area

Located in the main lobby of Brockway, the registration counter is used during some public and special events. It is accessible (34 inches high) and easily located.

Elevator

The elevator is accessed in the main lobby and in the Hilltop Café on the ground floor. The floor space in the elevator is 81 inches by 51.5 inches and the controls are at an accessible height and have alternative forms of communication (visual, tactile, auditory).

Restrooms

The restrooms have accessible stalls and are located on the ground and first floors.

Hilltop Café

There are two entrances to the Hilltop Cafe, each reached by the accessible exterior entrances. The doors of both entrances have lever handles, approximately 5 pounds of force to open, and are often propped open. There is an elevator in the café that accesses the upper floors of Brockway Hall. The restrooms in the café have wheelchair access. There are several tables in the café, so it can be difficult to move around during busy times. There is not designated accessible seating at any of the tables, but the chairs are moveable. All food service counters are accessible (34.5 inches high).

Jacobus Lounge

Jacobus Lounge is used for many public events (e.g., Sandwich Seminars, meetings, dinners). It is large with ample open space; wheelchair maneuvering space would depend on the room set-up for a specific event. The double doors to enter Jacobus Lounge are wide, heavy and have lever handles. The room is well-lit, with wooden floors.

Alumni Affairs Office Reception Area

The Alumni Affairs Office is located on the main floor of Brockway Hall, on the north side of the lobby area In the reception area of the Alumni Affairs Office, the reception counter is 44.5 inches, with no fold-out shelf. There is wheelchair maneuvering space in the reception area. The door is 35 inches wide and left open during business hours.

16 Neubig Road

Bus Stop

The campus bus stops directly in front of Corey Union. It is approximately 30 yards from the bus stop to the accessible east entrance of Corey Union. Some of the campus buses are accessible, with wheelchair lifts and securement areas (an area inside the bus designated for riders using mobility devices; straps and clamps ensure a safe ride). Parking

Accessible parking is available in the agency parking lot at Corey Union off Neubig Road. The parking lot is located on the east side of the Corey Union building and consists of two accessible parking spots (115 inches wide) with access aisles (45.5 inches wide). The Corey Union parking lot itself is small and can become congested.

Route of Travel from Accessible Parking to Accessible Entrance

The distance from the accessible parking spots to the accessible entrance is approximately 50 feet, and is a wide concrete sidewalk with a slope of 2% and a curb cut.

Accessible East Entrance

The accessible entrance to Corey Union is clearly marked with the international symbol of accessibility. The door is automatic and has a push button for automatic opening (as well as manual opening with a lever handle for entering, and a push bar for exiting).

Hallways

Once through the accessible entrance and inside Corey Union, the route of travel through hallways consists of smooth black tile. The hallways have appropriate width for accessibility. The hallways are dimly lit in places.

Drinking Fountains

Drinking fountains are located in the hallways, generally near the restroom entrances. The drinking fountains are wall-mounted, and 22.5 inches high (with open space underneath) and 19 inches deep.

Lobby/Registration

The Lobby/Registration area in Corey Union is down through the hallway from the accessible entrance, on the left side at the end of the hallway. The registration counter is 39.5 inches high, with no fold-out shelf available. There is a large sign with large print that identifies the Lobby and Registration area. The Lobby area is wide and spacious with ample room for wheelchair maneuvering. The Lobby Bulletin Board is accessible and at an appropriate level from the ground. The staff at the Registration desk is accommodating and will provide directions as needed. For information about Corey Union call 607-753-5545.

Elevator

The elevator in Corey Union provides access to all floors in the building and is located in the Lobby/Registration area. The route of travel to the elevator is black tile with a carpeted mat in front of the elevator entrance. Inside, the elevator measures 71 by 55 inches, is white, and has very bright lighting. The elevator doors are on a sensor, but close quickly. The elevator control panel is the appropriate height for accessibility (no higher than 54 inches off the ground), and has braille lettering on the control buttons inside.

Stairs

The stairs in Corey Union provide access to different floors and areas of the building. The stair doors are in close proximity to the elevator entrances in the Lobby area. The stairs are concrete and have metal and rubber edging that provides a foot-grasp, as well as visually differentiating the steps. The stair railing is metal, tubular, and easy to grasp. The stairs are well-lit.

Lobby Restroom

The accessible restrooms are located on the Lobby floor in the main hallway from the accessible entrance, with a smooth, black tile floor as the route of travel. The restrooms are located just around the corner from the Lobby/Registration desk. The international symbol of accessibility is located on the restroom door, and has raised braille lettering. The doors have lever handles, and are 6.5 pounds of pressure to open. There is adequate clear space on the pull side of the door. There is an obstruction to entering the women's restroom from the hallway, as a stationary bench is located in the hallway on the left side and protrudes near the restroom door entrance.

The restroom has an accessible bathroom stall, with a swing-out door. There is space for wheelchair maneuvering in the accessible bathroom stall. There are two grab bars located on the side and in the back of the toilet. The toilet height measures 18.75 inches. There is clear space in the sink area for wheelchair maneuvering. The sinks and soap dispensers are wall-mounted, as is the paper towel dispenser (54 inches from the ground).

Food Service/Concessions

The concession areas are located on the first floor of Corey Union and reached from the “Accessible Entrance inches by the elevator. The concession area is located directly off the elevator and to the right. The concessions offered at Corey Union are Friendly’s, Dunkin Donuts, Raquette Pizza, and a large room called the “Dragon Court inches that houses Subway, Veggie Patch, and the Dragon Grille. The food service lines are narrow. Friendly’s in particular has very limited space (with a doorway that measures 29.5 inches wide) and becomes congested very easily. Raquette Pizza is the most accessible, with a carpeted (two-part) ramp with an easily-grasped railing, shallow steps (four steps) with a solid wooden railing, and a wide double door entry. The seating area in Raquette Pizza is more spacious for wheelchair maneuvering. There are no alternative forms of communication for the menus in any of the concession areas, but the Dining Manager is interested in providing accommodations if needed. There is a separate seating area for the concession areas called the “Snack Bar inches with some booth seating (that sits an average of four people) and 19 moveable tables with moveable chairs (each table sits approximately five people). There are spaces for wheelchairs if a chair is moved from the table. The tables on the outer edges of the room (nearest the outer/main access aisle) are most accessible.

There is an accessible route of travel from the concession area to the restrooms.

Picnic Area

There is a picnic/outdoor eating area located outside the first floor eating areas. The picnic area can also be reached from the accessible parking lot by traveling down the main sidewalk in front of Corey Union and turning right down a steep slope. The distance from the parking lot to the picnic area is 190 feet. There are twelve cement stairs with a metal railing that also lead down to the picnic area. The picnic area itself consists of a concrete and asphalt surface that is uneven in spots. The picnic tables in this area are not wheelchair accessible.

Classrooms 201-306

These classrooms are located in an accessible hallway on the second and third floor. The doors to these rooms are somewhat heavy but the doorways are wide enough to be accessible. The rooms all have movable tables and chairs to make the rows wider to allow wheelchair access.

Function Room, Fireplace Lounge, and Exhibition Lounge

These rooms are most commonly used for conferences, performances, or meetings. The rooms all have double doors and tiled or carpeted floors. The tables and chairs are usually arranged differently depending on the function or special event. The Exhibition Lounge has two ramps to gain entry to the sunken room, as well as a set of stairs.

Additional Public Restrooms on the First and Third Floors

The restroom on the first floor is not listed as an accessible bathroom, the doorway is difficult to navigate, and there is no accessible stall. However, the restroom on the third floor is accessible and is laid out like the restroom described on the second floor.

Additional parking is available behind the Memorial Library. This parking lot has two accessible spaces that share an access aisle. It is approximately 450 feet from the library parking lot to the Cornish Hall accessible entrance and there are no curbs or other obstructions.

Doors

The designated accessible entrance to Cornish Hall is on the east side facing the Memorial Library. The entrance has automatic doors wide enough for wheelchair use.

Restrooms

The restrooms are located on the third floor The restrooms have accessible stalls, sinks, soap, and paper towel dispensers. Additional restrooms are located in the adjoining Education Building.

103 Prospect Terrace

Education Building houses the offices of the School of Education Dean's Office, the Childhood/Early Childhood Education Department, the Field Placement Office and the Child Care Center.

Bus Stop

The floor space in the elevator is 82 inches by 52 inches and the controls are at an accessible height and have alternative forms of communication (visual, tactile).

Restrooms

The restrooms are located on the first and third floor. The restrooms have accessible stalls, sinks, soap, and paper towel dispensers.

Classroom 1104 and Computer Lab 1310

The classroom has moveable tables. There is maneuvering space and unobstructed routes of travel in the classroom and computer lab.

12 Neubig Road

Fitzgerald Hall is a low-rise residence hall that houses both upper-class and new students. The building has study lounges, laundry facilities and a recreation room that is equipped with a billiard table, electronic dart board and a TV. Many residents like its close proximity to Corey Union and numerous dining facilities.

5 Lusk Drive

Bus Stop

The campus bus stops on the north side of the Park Center. It is approximately 340 yards from the bus stop to the north entrance of Lusk Field House. Some of the campus buses are accessible, with wheelchair lifts and securement areas (an area inside the bus designated for riders using mobility devices; straps and clamps ensure a safe ride). Parking

Accessible parking is available in the east lot adjacent to the Park Center. There are six accessible parking spots with access aisles.

Route of Travel from Parking to Lusk Field House Entrance

It is 530 feet from the accessible parking to the Lusk Field House entrance. The route of travel is level, paved (asphalt and concrete), with curb cuts.

Entrance

The north entrance is nearest to the accessible parking. There are doors in a series to gain entry, with 60 inches between the sets of doors. Doors are 32 inches wide, and 13 pounds of pressure to open.

Restrooms

The restrooms have accessible stalls, sinks, soap and paper towel dispensers. The door to enter the restroom is 35 inches wide and 13.5 pounds of pressure to open. However, it is typically propped open at all times.

Locker Rooms

There are several locker rooms in Lusk Field House. The locker rooms have moveable plastic chairs and no fixed benches. Locker handles are 40 inches from the floor, though there is a changing space large enough for wheelchair maneuvering. The shower area is a large open area with no stalls. There is a hand-held sprayer unit 40 inches at its lowest setting.

Indoor Track and Gymnasium Area

The indoor track and gymnasium area is large and open, with a rubberized floor. Standard bleachers are pulled out on each side during large events.

81 Prospect Terrace

Memorial Library is home to three computer labs, The Bookmark Café, Advisement and Transition, the Faculty Development Center, the Computer Applications Program (CAP), the Technology Training Center and the Teaching Materials Center.

Bus Stop

The nearest campus bus stop is located on Graham Avenue by the Moffett Building. It is approximately 300 yards from the bus stop to the Memorial Library. The route of travel from the bus stop to the library includes sidewalks and one concrete ramp. Parking is available in a reserved area behind the library, and in the Dowd parking lot, east of the library. The parking lot has two accessible spaces that share an access aisle. It is approximately 400 feet from the library parking lot to the front entrance to the library and there are no curbs or other obstructions.

Entrance

One set of automatic doors is located at the main entrance to the library on the front side of the building. The doors are wide enough for wheelchair access (34 inches).

Circulation and Information Desk

The circulation and information desk is located in the lobby off the main entrance. The height of the counter is 39 inches and there is no fold-out shelf.

Elevator

The elevator is located at the back of the lobby to the left of the Circulation/Information Desk. The elevator car is 80 inches by 55 inches. The controls are 42 inches from the floor and have visual and tactile communication.

Rest Rooms

The rest rooms with wheelchair access are located on the first floor. The accessible stalls are large enough for maneuvering, the doors swing out, and there are at least two grab bars. The sink, soap, and paper towel dispensers are accessible.

Bookmark Cafe

The Bookmark Cafe is located to the right of the main entrance. The concession counter is 36.5 inches and the condiments counter is 34.5 inches. There is a mix of tables, chairs, and side chairs, and computer stations in the Bookmark Cafe area, many of which are moveable to allow for maneuvering space.

Drinking Fountain

A wheelchair accessible drinking fountain is available on the first floor of the library next to the women's rest room.

Online Catalog

There is a wheelchair accessible online catalog station located on the first floor near the Reference Desk. There is another located on the second floor near the Interactive Reference Area.

Retrieving Materials

Individuals who need help retrieving library materials may request assistance at the Circulation Desk. Immediate help may not be available. Patrons who anticipate needing help with retrieving and reviewing a number of items should bring their own research assistant.

Semester or Daily Study Carrels

Study carrels are available for students and faculty on a daily or semester basis. These spaces can help by reducing environmental distractions. Special arrangements can be made for individuals who use wheelchairs.

The main library classroom is located to the left of the main entrance, past the Circulation/Information Desk. The classroom contains moveable tables, and there is space for wheelchair maneuvering. The door to the classroom is 34 inches with lever handles.

Additional accessible parking is available in the visitor lot on the south side of the Miller Building. The route of travel from the south lot to the accessible south entrance is much steeper, with a 5% sloped ramp/sidewalk from the sidewalk to the south entrance door.

There are two accessible entrances to the Miller Building, one on the north side of the building, and one on the south side. Both entrances have automatic doors wide enough for wheelchair use. The north entrance is immediately adjacent to the designated accessible parking and is the nearest accessible entrance to the bus stop.

Registration/Check-in Area

Located in the Admissions area, the registration counter is staffed and easily located . It is accessible (33 inches high) with ample maneuvering space for wheelchairs.

Elevator

The two elevators are accessed in the main lobby of the Miller Building. The floor space in the elevator is 70.5 inches by 46 inches and the controls are at an accessible height and have alternative forms of communication (visual, tactile, auditory).

Restrooms

The restrooms have accessible stalls and are located across from the elevators on all four floors. Accessible toilet stalls are 54 inches by 60 inches with doors swinging out. Sinks, soap, and paper towel dispensers are accessible.

Admissions Office Reception Area

The Admissions Office is located on the main floor of the Miller Building, on the south side of the lobby area. The registration counter is accessible and there is ample wheelchair maneuvering space.

40 Graham Avenue

Moffett Center houses the Health, Mathematics and Sociology/Anthropology departments as well as the Brooks Museum.

Bus Stop

Parking

Accessible parking is located on the northeast side of Moffett, near the Miller Building. There are three accessible parking spaces with shared access aisles. It is approximately 100 feet from the designated parking to the accessible north entrance. The route of travel is paved, and unobstructed.

Doors

The designated accessible entrance to the Moffett Center is on the north side facing Old Main. There is a concrete ramp or eight steps to approach the entrance doors. The entrance has doors in a series to gain entry; the exterior door is an automatic door and the second door is manual. The doors are wide enough for wheelchair use.

Elevator

The elevator is located near the accessible entrance. The floor space in the elevator is 67 inches by 49 inches and the controls are at an accessible height and have alternative forms of communication (visual, tactile).

Restrooms

The designated accessible restrooms are located on lower level of Moffett and are single use restrooms. The restroom doors have lever handles, but require 13 pounds of pressure to open. The restrooms have accessible toilets, sinks, soap, and paper towel dispensers, with ample wheelchair maneuvering space.

Rozanne M. Brooks Museum

The Brooks Museum houses a collection of nearly 200 cultural/ethnographic items, approximately half of which are on display at any given time. Many artifacts in the museum are small and not in the average line of sight. A guide book is available but has small font. The cases are clearly labeled but are tall; the top and middle shelves are difficult to view from the height of a wheelchair.

Moffett Gymnasium

Moffett Gymnasium is located in the middle of the building. The route of travel from the accessible entrance and into the gymnasium is accessible. The gym is used for participatory activities and not for spectator events.

Classrooms

All classrooms have moveable tables or desks. There is maneuvering space and unobstructed routes of travel in all classrooms.

15 Neubig Road

Neubig Hall houses the Campus Store, dining facilities, a bank branch and the customer service and accounting offices for ASC.

Bus Stop

There are two campus bus stops near Neubig Hall. One is by the east accessible entrance of Neubig Hall and the other is across the street by Corey Union. The designated accessible entrance is approximately 175 feet from the bus stop. Accessible parking is located in the lot on the east side of Neubig Hall, and is metered parking. There are four accessible parking spaces with access aisles. It is approximately 200 feet from the designated parking to the accessible entrance. The route of travel is paved and unobstructed.

Doors

The designated accessible entrance to Neubig Hall is on the east side. There are 3 steps to gain entry, as well as a concrete ramp. that is 39 inches wide and has a slope of 8%. The entrance has automatic doors in a series to gain entry, wide enough for wheelchair use. The automatic door button opens both doors.

Elevator

The elevator is located near the accessible entrance. The floor space in the elevator is 59 inches by 52 inches and the controls are at an accessible height and have alternative forms of communication (visual, tactile, auditory). An employee stationed near the elevator must operate it.

Restrooms

The women's restroom is located on the first floor near the designated accessible entrance. The restroom has an accessible stall, soap, and paper towel dispensers. Grasping is required to use sink fixtures, but are otherwise accessible. The accessible men's restroom is located one floor down.

The Campus Store Bookstore

There is an accessible route of travel into the Campus Store and the checkout counter is accessible (32 inches). Though there are many areas that can be accessed throughout the store, the route of travel may be impeded by crowded racks of merchandise; this is variable depending on current merchandise displays.

Neubig Dining Hall

The buffet style food service line is accessible, with an unobstructed route of travel. The self-service condiments counters are at various heights, ranging from 31 inches to 54 inches, so assistance in reaching items may be needed. There are numerous tables with movable chairs, allowing flexibility in seating.

Old Main houses the Brown Auditorium, as well as classrooms, faculty offices, numerous academic departments and the dean's office for the School of Arts and Sciences.

Bus Stop

The campus bus stop is located near Moffett, southeast of Old Main. The northeast entrance is the closest accessible entrance from the bus stop (approximately 840 feet). Two of the eight campus buses are accessible, with wheelchair lifts and securement areas (an area inside the bus designated for riders using mobility devices; straps and clamps ensure a safe ride). Parking

Accessible parking is located on the northwest side of Old Main, in the rear of the building near the heating plant. There are four accessible parking spaces with access aisles. It is approximately 140 feet from the accessible parking to the nearest accessible entrance to Old Main (west side) and the route of travel is paved and unobstructed. There is also accessible parking near the south side of the Miller Building. At this site, there are three accessible parking spaces with shared access aisles. There is additional accessible parking in the north parking lot by the Miller Building, though the route of travel to Old Main is less accessible.

Doors

There are three automatic doors to gain entry into Old Main. One door is located in the front of the building on the north side, across from the Miller Building. The second automatic door is on the north side of the building facing the north parking lot off Graham Avenue. The third automatic door is on the back of Old Main on the west side by the heating plant parking lot. All lead to the ground floor of Old Main. The entrances have doors in a series to gain entry and are automatic. The doors are wide enough for wheelchair use.

Elevator

The elevator is located near the west accessible entrance. The floor space in the elevator is 65 inches by 94 inches and the controls are at an accessible height and have alternative forms of communication (visual, tactile).

Restrooms

There are two restrooms with wheelchair access on every floor of Old Main. The restroom doors require 13 pounds of pressure to open. The restrooms have accessible toilets, sinks, soap, and paper towel dispensers, with adequate wheelchair maneuvering space.

Dragon's Den

The Dragon's Den is located on the lower level of Old Main. The cafeteria and cashier counter are accessible. There is an accessible route of travel from the food service area to the seating. Tables and chairs are moveable to create more maneuvering space if needed.

Brown Auditorium

Brown Auditorium is located on the main floor of Old Main. There is an accessible route of travel from the elevator into the auditorium seating area. There is no designated accessible seating. Spaces for wheelchairs are provided in clear open space near the stage and in the back row area, with no companion seating provided. There is a slight incline from the front of the stage to the back of the auditorium. There is not an accessible route of travel from the seating area to the stage.

Classrooms

There are over 25 classrooms, conference rooms, and computer labs in Old Main. All classrooms have moveable desks. A small number of classrooms contain tables instead of desks. There is maneuvering space and unobstructed routes of travel in all classrooms, though some desks may need to be pushed further apart in some rooms.

8 Folmer Drive

The Park Center offers sporting events and activities in its four gyms, an ice arena, an Olympic-size pool and a gymnastics arena. It also features a dance studio, a ropes course, a rock-climbing wall, racquetball and squash courts and the Woods fitness facility.

Bus Stop

The campus bus stops on the north side of the Park Center. It is approximately 300 feet from the bus stop to the north entrance of Park Center and 400 feet to the east accessible entrance. Parking

Accessible parking is available in two lots adjacent to the Park Center, the east lot (nearest parking to the accessible entrance) and the southwest lot (nearest parking to the elevator). In the east lot, there are six designated accessible parking spots with access aisles. It is approximately 140 feet from the parking spots to the entrance and the route of travel is flat, paved, and unobstructed. In the southwest lot, there are three designated accessible parking sports with access aisles. It is approximately 60 feet from the parking to the southwest entrance and the route of travel is flat, paved, and unobstructed.

Entrances

The east entrance is accessible, with automatic door openers on both doors in a series to gain entry. The southwest entrance also has doors in a series to gain entry, with 87" between the sets of doors. Doors are wide enough for wheelchair access, and have automatic door openers.

Elevator

The elevator to the second floor of Park Center is located just inside the southwest entrance. The floor space in the elevator is 150 inches by 100 inches and the controls are at an accessible height and have alternative forms of communication (audible, visual, tactile).

Restrooms

Public restrooms are located on the first and second floor of Park Center. All have accessible stalls, sinks, soap and paper towel dispensers. The doors to enter the restrooms are wide enough for wheelchair access and require 8 pounds of pressure to open.

Locker Rooms

There are several locker rooms in Park Center, all located on the main floor. Locker room doors are wide enough for wheelchair use, with less than 5 pounds of pressure to open. Several lockers can be accessed from a wheelchair with ample maneuvering space in changing areas. The locker rooms have fixed benches, but there is a clear path of travel throughout due to wide pathways. The shower area is a large open area with no stalls. There is no hand-held shower sprayer unit and shower controls require grasping to operate. Shower benches and grab bars are provided.

(Note: This information is for the main men's and women's locker rooms. The home and visiting team athletic locker rooms were not assessed)

Corey Gymnasium

Corey Gymnasium, located on the second floor of Park Center, is large and open, with a wooden floor. Standard bleachers are pulled out on each side during large events, so wheelchair access is limited to the floor space. Entrances to the gymnasium are accessible.

Holsten Swimming Pool

The swimming pool has an accessible entrance through either the men's or women's locker room. The large pool has 3 ladders and a lift to gain entry, with lifeguards available to operate the lift. There is ample wheelchair maneuvering space on the pool deck. There is adaptive equipment available upon request (kickboards, pull buoys, floats, etc.). The spectator seating area for the pool is located off the second floor of Park Center, near the Poolside Concession area. The spectator seating is steeply stacked fixed benches. Wheelchair access is available only on the top row near the entrances.

Alumni Ice Arena

The indoor Alumni Ice Arena has an accessible route of travel to gain entry. There is a lip to gain access to the ice itself. Spectator seating is fixed tiered benches around the arena, with an indoor walking track that encircles the area. Wheelchair accessible seating is available only on the walking track. Restroom are available near the ice arena on the first floor and the second floor (near the indoor track/spectator seating). Skate rentals are available, as well as skating aids and ice hockey sleds.

Poolside Concession Area

Poolside Concession Area is located near Corey Gymnasium, Holsten Pool, and the Alumni Ice Arena. There are several moveable tables and chairs that would allow wheelchair access. The concession counter is 41 inches high, with no pull-out shelf. The condiment cart is 35 inches high. The menu is posted on the back wall behind the concession counter, and the special of the day is provided in pictorial format and words.

Woods Fitness Facility

Woods Fitness Facility is located on the main floor of Park Center with an accessible route of travel to gain entry. The registration/check-in desk is located just inside the accessible entrance and is easily located and accessible. The floor is rubberized tiles throughout the fitness facility. The equipment is not specifically designed for accessibility and does not offer easy transfer. The route of travel is constricted in fitness facility, especially to the treadmills and elliptical machines located near the rear of the facility. Some of the exercise machines with pedals do have a way to keep a person's foot on the pedal during use. Some of the equipment is usable without transferring. The mats, exercise balls, dumbbells, and some weight benches are accessible. Staff is available to assist in use of the facility and with specific exercise machines.

Dance Studio

The dance studio is located on the second floor of Park Center. The route of travel to the dance studio and entrance are accessible. The dance studio is spacious with a wooden floor. The front wall of the studio is entirely mirrored.

Rock Climbing Wall and Indoor Ropes Course

The rock climbing wall and indoor ropes course is located on the second floor of Park Center, with an accessible route of travel to gain entry. There is ample wheelchair maneuvering in large wooden-floored gym in which it is located. There are no designated accessibility features for either the climbing wall or ropes course. Seat harnesses are used for safety, but full body harnesses are also available. Staff is available for assistance on the climbing wall.

Hall of Fame Room

The Hall of Fame Room is located on the main floor of Park Center and is the venue for many public talks and workshops. The route of travel to the Hall of Fame Room is accessible, as are the doors to gain entry. The carpeted room has moveable tables to allow for access.

Classrooms

Classrooms are located on the first and second floor of Park Center. The classrooms vary in layout and furnishing, but all except the lecture hall have moveable furniture to allow for access. Doors vary in pressure to open, but all doors are wide enough for wheelchair access. The lecture hall (Room 1101) has steps to gain entry. A wheelchair lift is provided on the east door to the hall and is operated by the user.

5 Folmer Drive

The Professional Studies Building houses the School of Professional Studies Dean's Office and the departments of Communication Disorders and Sciences, Kinesiology, Recreation, Parks and Leisure Studies and Sport Management.

Accessible parking is located in the lot on the west side of the Professional Studies Building. There are six accessible parking spaces with access aisles. It is approximately 140 feet from the designated parking to the accessible entrance. The route of travel is flat, paved, and unobstructed.

Doors

The designated accessible entrance to the Professional Studies Building is on the north side facing Folmer Drive. The entrance has doors in a series to gain entry, with power assist automatic doors wide enough for wheelchair use.

Dean's Office Registration/Check-in Area

The Dean's Office is located through the lobby area, and down the first hallway on the right; the office is on the left. The reception area counter is 35.5 inches high and easily located. There is ample space for wheelchair maneuvering.

Elevator

The elevator is in the 2-story section of the Professional Studies Building. From the accessible entrance, travel to the south side of the building via any hallway. Turn left and follow the south side hallway all the way to the end. The elevator is on the left at the end of the hallway. The floor space in the elevator is 69 inches by 52 inches and the controls are at an accessible height and have alternative forms of communication (visual, tactile, auditory).

Restrooms

The restrooms are located on the first floor near the lobby area and the designated accessible entrance. The restrooms have accessible stalls, sinks, soap, and paper towel dispensers. Additional restrooms are located on the second floor. The women's restroom has an accessible stall; the men's restroom is single use, with a lockable door, and could be used by anyone needing a larger space.

Commuter Showers

The commuter showers are located adjacent to the elevator. The designated accessible shower is a single use lockable room with space for wheelchair maneuvering. There is no shower bench in the large shower stall. The hand-held shower spray unit is 60 inches from the floor, with shower controls that are usable without grasping. There are no grab bars in the shower stall.

Classrooms 1105 to 2123

All classrooms have moveable tables or desks. Some classrooms (e.g., 2123) have accessible single use tables. The height of tables at the front of each classroom can be adjusted as well. There is maneuvering space and unobstructed routes of travel in all classrooms. All classrooms are located on the first floor of the Professional Studies Building.

3 Moffett Lane

Sperry Center features lecture hall-size classrooms equipped with state-of-the-art electronic media. Offices for Classroom Media Services are housed in this building.

Bus Stop

Accessible parking is located to the west of Sperry, near the University Police Department. There are six accessible parking spaces with access aisles. It is approximately 140 feet from the accessible parking to the nearest accessible entrance to Sperry (west side). The route of travel is paved and includes a lengthy ramp with switchbacks, with a slope of 7%. There is also accessible parking near the south side of the Miller Building. The nearest entrance from this parking to Sperry is on the east side (approximately 900 feet). At this parking site, there are three accessible parking spaces with shared access aisles.

Doors

There are two automatic doors to gain entry into Sperry. One door is located in the front of the building on the west side. The second automatic door is on the east side of the building facing Moffett Center. The entrances have doors in a series to gain entry and are automatic. The doors are wide enough for wheelchair use.

Elevator

The elevator is located on the north side of the building and is easily located from either entrance. The floor space in the elevator is 95 inches by 79 inches and the controls are at an accessible height and have alternative forms of communication (visual, tactile).

Restrooms

There are restrooms with wheelchair access on every floor of Sperry. The restroom doors have lever handles and require 3 to 4 pounds of pressure to open. The restrooms have accessible toilets, sinks, soap, and paper towel dispensers, with adequate wheelchair maneuvering space throughout.

Lecture Halls (Theater Style Classrooms)

There are seven large auditorium-style classrooms in Sperry. All classrooms have an accessible route of travel to enter, have integrated wheelchair seating and companion seating.

Computer Lab (Sperry 103)

The computer lab has moveable chairs by the computer stations. There is maneuvering space down the center aisle of the computer stations. Wheelchair seating at the computer stations is at the end of each row on the center aisle.

1096 Lankler Drive

The Stadium Complex features two artificial turf fields served by a dual-sided multi-tier press box and several additional sporting fields. It has a combined seating capacity for 8,000 spectators and is the site of the New York Jets summer training camp.

Bus Stop

The campus bus stops at the 281 Parking Lot. It is approximately 540 yards from the bus stop to the Stadium Complex. Parking

During game days, accessible parking is available in front of the stadium complex. There are approximately 4 spots, which are 50 feet away from the ticket window. The area in front of the stadium has a smooth transition from parking area to ticket window. Accessible parking is also located at the rear (south end) of stadium. On non-game days, parking is available at the Route 281 Lot, Park Center lots, and the grated stone area in back of Professional Studies Building. If parking in any of the other areas, their is an accessible sidewalk.

Entrance

The gates into the stadium are open during game days.

Restrooms

The North and South corridor restrooms have one accessible stall and one accessible urinal. There is another restroom located between the softball and soccer field that also has an accessible bathroom and urinal. The surface of route of travel to all three bathrooms is pavement (sometimes uneven) to smooth concrete.

Elevator

The elevator is located halfway down the corridor between both stadiums (red and white). The floor space in the elevator is 60 inches by 30 inches and the controls are at an accessible height and have alternative forms of communication (visual, tactile).

Stadium Red (Football Field)

Stadium Red has accessible seating located in front of the stands. There are approximately 20 companion seats located along the platform, but there is an unlimited amount of space for wheelchair seating. There are no accessible seats in the stands, but there is accessible seating above the stands and in the press boxes. Additionally, there are portable stands located at the end of field (near the touchdown area) which accessible seating is available next to these stands.

Stadium White (Field Hockey/Track Field)

Stadium White has 15 companion seats and an unlimited amount of accessible seating. There are no accessible seats in the stands, but there is accessible seating above the stands and in the press boxes.

Softball

There is no accessible route of travel to the softball field. Traveling from the front gates to the softball field, the surface is pavement, then once passing the stadium gates, loose stones then grass. Traveling from the Park Center or Professional Studies parking lots, the surface is loose stone to grass. Accessible seating is available next to bleachers (in the way of the walking pathway though). A bathroom (with an accessible stall and urinal) and concession stand is located between softball and soccer field.

Soccer

There is a designated area for accessible seating at the soccer field. However, there are no companion seats available. The stands are located on either side of accessible seating area. When gaining entry into the soccer field stands, there is a ramp with a three to four percent slope. A bathroom (with an accessible stall and urinal) and concession stand is located between softball and soccer field.

Baseball

The baseball field is the only sport facility located at a distance from the Stadium complex. The baseball field is located behind Park Center and next to Lusk Field House. Typically, on game days, parking is available in front of Lusk Field House. Otherwise parking is located on the south end of the baseball field by Park Center (there are no designated accessible spots in the parking area). The pathway surface to the baseball field is uneven pavement. There is no accessible seating at the baseball field except next to the bleachers. The seating area is right next to the dugout and is the pathway where spectators also walk. The nearest bathroom is located in Park Center or Lusk Field House.

91 Prospect Terrace

Van Hoesen Hall houses the Student Health Service, Counseling Center, Career Services, University Police Department, the Residence Life and Housing Office and faculty offices. It also houses the Tomik Fitness Facility, a popular workout spot for students, faculty and staff.

Bus Stop

The nearest bus stop is by Corey Union and it is approximately 200 feet from the bus stop to the accessible entrance of Van Hoesen Hall on Prospect Terrace Drive side of the building. Two of the eight campus buses are accessible, with wheelchair lifts and securement areas (an area inside the bus designated for riders using mobility devices; straps and clamps ensure a safe ride). Parking

There are two lots with accessible parking, one located on the west side of the building and one on the north side. The west Corey Union lot has one accessible space. It is approximately 80 feet from the parking to the entrance, with an unobstructed route of travel. The north parking lot is located around the back side of Van Hoesen, accessed by car from Graham Ave. This lot has 6 accessible spaces. The spaces are all clearly marked and located approximately 80 feet from the entrance on an unobstructed route of travel.

Doors

There is an accessible entrance near each parking lot. Both entrances feature automatic doors. The entrance located on the southwest Prospect Terrace side of the building has a series of ramps to gain entry, but none exceed 8% slope.

Elevator

There is one elevator located toward the middle of Van Hoesen Hall, servicing all three floors. The floor space in the elevator is 66 inches by 49.5 inches and the controls are at an accessible height and have alternative forms of communication (visual, tactile).

Restrooms

There are six restrooms in Van Hoesen, three for each gender on each of the three floors. On the first floor, the restrooms are located by the University Police Department. On the other two floors, they are located toward the middle of the building, near the elevators. All six restrooms each have a larger toilet stall to accommodate a wheelchair (except the women's stalls on the second and third floor, which have smaller stalls with dimensions of 50 inches by 40 inches).

Locker Rooms

The locker rooms have accessible lockers and room for wheelchair maneuvering in the changing area. There is a lip to gain entry to the group shower area, and no hand-held shower unit is present. Some of the shower controls are usable without grasping and are at a height of 51 inches.

Tomik Fitness Facility

The fitness facility features a large variety of machines and equipment, along with staff trained in instruction of the use of the equipment. The free weights area and the fitness classroom area are both wheelchair accessible. Of the various exercise machines, there is one accessible machine for each of following: stationary bikes, treadmills, ellipticals, and stair machines. There is an unobstructed route of travel throughout the fitness facility, though not all machines have wheelchair maneuvering space.

Classrooms

All classrooms have moveable tables or desks. There is maneuvering space and unobstructed routes of travel in all classrooms. Doors to the classrooms have knobs, but are usually left open.
