Mandated Workshops

NYS mandated workshops for SUNY Cortland students

Students attending CAR

  • Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting (CAR - workshop fee $35)
  • Dignity for All Students Act (DASA - workshop fee $100)
  • School Violence Prevention and Intervention (SAV - workshop fee $35)

All workshops will be virtual - CERTIFICATES ARE NOT ISSUED.

Once enrolled, the information will be emailed to your SUNY Cortland email address, shortly before the scheduled workshop date.

Please take note of the following:

  • We are unable to move students from the registered date. Any changes must be done during a Drop/Add only!
  • Workshop registration must occur during the normal on-line registration period or during Drop/Add period through the Registrar's Office, using myRedDragon and going to the student tab (not in Schedule Builder).
  • Course fees are not refundable. Other enrollment and fee deadlines will apply, and appear in course notes.
  • Failure to attend will result in you receiving a "NC" = No Credit. You will be required to re-register for another workshop (based on availability) at the original fee, during a Drop/Add only (when re-registering for a missed workshop - you must contact the FESP Office to have a repeat flag lifted).
  • If you have registered for all three workshops - the DASA workshop is the only workshop that you will have modules due (these are found in Brightspace). You cannot attend the virtual session without completing all modules with a score of 510.

Certificates of completion for the workshop will not be issued.

(This information can be found on your Degree Works.)

Any questions regarding the workshops, please email Mary E. Reagan or Melissa M. Smith in the FESP Office.
