Health/Wellness

Get up, get active, get help, get going! At SUNY Cortland, we’re interested in your well-being.

You can count on us to provide you with a safe place to live, medical attention when needed, emergency notification systems, campus ministries, counseling services and educational programs on important health topics such as relationships, nutrition and substance abuse prevention.

Work out your stress and restore your mind and body in our state-of-the-art fitness facilities, on the campus walking trails or through all types of recreational and intramural sports, sport clubs and the Community Bike Program. Learn more about the resources available at SUNY Cortland to help you stay healthy, safe and fit.

Housing

Move into one of the 18 residence halls at SUNY Cortland, and you join a comfortable, safe, fun and friendly community.

As a freshman, you’re required to live on campus for four semesters. As a new transfer student with at least sophomore credits, you must live on campus for two semesters.

Choose from high-rise or low-rise buildings, suites or double rooms, quiet floors, wellness floors or an international hall and discover a great home away from home right here.

Make new friends, get involved and become a leader in the Residence Hall Association or the Residence Life Conference. You’ll always find plenty to do on campus and plenty of people who like to be active with you.

Visit the Residence Life and Housing Office site for additional information.

Dining

Hungry? Our campus food vendor, Auxiliary Services Corporation (ASC), offers outstanding options.

With eateries all over campus, you can refuel your brain and body with many delicious choices, such as sushi, made-to-order stir-fries, salad bars and coffee from Cortland’s own Coffee Mania. You’ll also recognize our franchise partners Subway and Dunkin’ Donuts.

Parking/Transportation

All students, including freshmen, are allowed to have cars on campus and must register them with the University Police Department But you don’t need a car to get where you want to go. Take the campus bus — service runs every half hour and stops at key locations — or grab one of our bright yellow community bikes.

Bus transportation home and back to campus is available during fall and spring breaks.

Diversity

The strength of the SUNY Cortland campus community stems from the wide range of backgrounds and interests embodied in our students, our faculty and staff, our international partners and programs and our commitment to preparing for a global, multicultural future.

Respectfully appreciating our differences adds essential understanding to your academic pursuits and enriches everyone’s life.
