Benefits

We are pleased to present a summary of employee benefits website. As New York State employees, we enjoy a wide array of benefits, and understanding these benefits is not always easy.

Benefits change rapidly and we will attempt to keep this website as up to date as possible. SUNY has developed a terrific website on SUNY Benefits.

We encourage you to bookmark this site as it has extremely valuable and helpful information. It includes many downloadable forms, detailed information about the various benefits programs, and links to additional resources. It also contains a separate section on benefit information for prospective employees. This site will be continuously updated as changes to benefits are made.

Paid Family Leave

As of January 1, 2019, PFL is available to unclassified Management/Confidential (SUNY MC13) and UUP-represented employees, and may become available to other union-represented employees through the collective bargaining process.

This webpage discusses PFL program details for unclassified Management/Confidential (SUNY MC13) and UUP-represented employees.  View the PFL Policy for UUP-represented employees. View the PFL program available to classified groups (e.g., MC06 employees).

The purpose of PFL is to help employees with work-life balance by providing a paid leave alternative to charging paid leave accruals for leaves of absence to attend to family* needs associated with:

  • the birth or placement of a biological, adopted, or foster child (first 12 months)
  • a family member's serious health condition (physical or psychological care)
  • a call to active duty in the U.S. armed forces (qualifying exigency)
