Standards for hygiene and cleanliness

Facilities Operations and Services (FOS) staff take the standards for hygiene and cleanliness very seriously. The health of our students, faculty and staff is of the utmost importance and we are taking steps to ensure the safety of all campus constituents. Facilities Operations and Services has been closely monitoring the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) statements regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19) and following their recommendations regarding cleaning and disinfecting across campus.

Mission statement

The Office of Facilities Operations and Services is responsible for the operation and maintenance of campus buildings, grounds and utility systems.  This includes a wide range of functions such as electrical infrastructure, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, fire alarm systems, carpentry, plumbing, small scale construction and renovation, grounds maintenance, including snow removal, athletic field maintenance; janitorial and custodial work; special event setup and cleanup; motor vehicle maintenance; transportation; and general campus services.

Facilities Operations and Services works diligently to support and maintain all elements of our campus in a cost effective and service-oriented manner;  hence providing a safe, attractive, healthy, productive and sustainable environment that supports the mission of the campus and the evolving needs of students, faculty, staff, and guests.
