The advertising of events held on campus and sponsored by a recognized campus organization in conjunction with off-campus commercial businesses shall be exempt from the commercial advertising guidelines.
All advertising of off-campus events at commercial locations, if sponsored by on-campus organizations, requires payment of the commercial fee set by this policy unless:
- It can be shown that the activity is being promoted as a fundraising event for the organization where a contract exists between the commercial business, other possible sponsors and the organization, which allows for all proceeds, over and above direct costs as determined by a process defined by the contract, to revert to the organization; or
- The event requires the pre-purchase of tickets or admission fees, which are part of the normal course of business relative to the activity such as concessions, amusement parks, plays, etc.
