Camp Marion

Two lean-tos or open camps are available to SUNY Cortland alumni, faculty/staff, guests and students by reservation. The lean-to closest to the water is named Beach and the one on the hill shall be named Wood. The lean-tos are accessible by water only, in the warmer months, and are approximately a two-mile paddle from Antlers. The lean-tos are available during the winter months as well and can be accessed across ice and snow. Canoes may be rented from Antlers with prior notice. A lean-to reservation does not ensure that canoes will be available. SUNY Cortland staff reserve the right to prohibit launch in case of inclement weather, fog, poor ice condition or darkness. There are no provisions at Camp Marion for motorized boats.

Reservations

Reservations must be made a minimum of one week prior to intended stay. Reservations may be obtained via an online reservation form, email or phone. Those camping without a reservation will be asked to leave. Cancellations should be called in as soon as possible. A no-show cancellation may affect your future reservation.

You must be affiliated with SUNY Cortland to reserve a lean-to. No person under 18 years of age can reserve a lean-to. The person who made the reservation is responsible for the conduct of all persons in the party and is liable for any violations of rules or regulations committed.

Check-in and out times will be designated on the reservation form and confirmed with SUNY Cortland staff. You will need to consider the travel time to Camp Marion and sunrise/sunset times. Check-in/out times at Antlers shall not take place before 9 a.m. or after 6 p.m.
