Power restored to North Campus

12/26/2012

Power was restored to SUNY Cortland’s upper campus today and all operations will proceed as scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 27.

All employees scheduled to work that day should plan to report to campus. If, however, any faculty or staff member feels that weather conditions created by the snow storm moving through the region have made travel hazardous, they are encouraged to stay home and credit the day against their accrued time.

The College is asking the Governor’s Office to waive attendance rules for Dec. 24 and 26, when many employees were unable to report for work due to a campus power outage. If approved, employees who had not already planned to take time off will not have to use accrual time for those two days.  The campus was closed on Dec. 25 for the Christmas holiday.

Work crews installed a new electrical transformer on campus Wednesday, and power was restored to all North Campus buildings by 4 p.m.
