Dear campus community,
I wanted to share news about one of SUNY Cortland’s dining locations.
The Dragon’s Den in Old Main has closed permanently. This was not an easy decision, as Cortland Auxiliary Services is aware than many students, faculty and staff enjoyed its convenience.
However, Cortland Auxiliary will be able to better serve the campus community by putting more resources into other dining locations. This decision was made based on continuing trends – Dragon’s Den is the least-used dining facility on campus – and with input and cooperation from Cortland Auxiliary’s Board of Directors, representatives from Student Government Association and President’s Cabinet.
You should know:
- Cortland Auxiliary will expand weekday hours at The Bookmark in Memorial Library and both weekday and weekend hours at The Bistro Off Broadway in the Student Life Center.
- Moffett Center Café Sawubona and Hilltop in Brockway Hall are among other nearby options.
- Dragon’s Den employees will shift to other locations on campus.
- Vending machines near Dragon’s Den will remain.
The university is currently exploring how to reimagine the Dragon’s Den space in Old Main.
