The College's Performing Arts Department will present four performances from two wildly different pieces in “Oedipus Back-to-Back” at the Lab Theatre in Dowd Fine Arts Center.

SUNY Cortland’s Choral Union will perform Carl Orff’s “Carmina Burana” at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10, in the Dowd Fine Arts Theater.

Two individuals — a champion athlete who pioneered adaptive canoeing and a musician who plays internationally acclaimed concerts on the toy piano — will receive honorary doctoral degrees at Undergraduate Commencement ceremonies.

Thomas Hischak, professor of performing arts who specializes in theatre, has received a Fulbright Foundation grant in the Senior Specialists Program in which American scholars are invited to teach and/or work with foreign universities for a limited period of time.

The musical comedy spoof “The Drowsy Chaperone” will be performed March 25-27 and April 1-3 in the Dowd Fine Arts Center Theatre at SUNY Cortland.

The Performing Arts Department has announced the cast for its spring production of the musical comedy spoof “The Drowsy Chaperone,” which will be performed March 25 through April 3 in the Dowd Fine Arts Center Theatre. Tickets go on sale at Jodi’s Hallmark & Trends, 11 Main St., Cortland, on March 1 and will be available at the door before each performance.

The Performing Arts Department will present a faculty recital titled “Music of American Composers and Others” at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 8.

The Choral Union at SUNY Cortland will present a concert of four works from the baroque, classical and romantic periods on Tuesday, Nov. 30.

Music that originated during the Renaissance through the 20th century will be featured in the Thursday, Nov. 18 concert by the College Singers at SUNY Cortland.

“War and Peace” is the theme of the SUNY College-Community Orchestra concert set for Tuesday, Nov. 16, in the Dowd Fine Arts Theatre. Directed by Ubaldo Valli of the Performing Arts Department, the concert will begin at 8 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
