SUNY Cortland’s newly created Student Philanthropy Council will celebrate the act of giving with Philanthropy Week events from Tuesday, Nov. 12, to Thursday, Nov. 14, on the ground floor of Corey Union.
Students and staff members will staff tables from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day and showcase ways people give back to SUNY Cortland — whether it’s with their time, talent or treasure.
Students can earn prizes and enter raffles just for stopping by the tables to have a photo snapped or writing a thank you note. They also are invited to keep up with the week’s events on social media by joining the week’s Facebook event and tagging tweets and photos with #CortlandGivesBack.
To celebrate National Philanthropy Day on Friday, Nov. 15, an online gallery of photos from the week will be created as a way to thank donors.
