Community and College Commission Launches Page

Community and College Commission Launches Page

12/16/2013

The commission charged with developing a comprehensive response to issues surrounding the annual Cortaca Jug football game has begun posting minutes of its meetings on a new Web page.

The Community and College Commission’s new page also lists all of its scheduled meetings, identifies commission members and offers a mechanism for emailing comments and suggestions to the group.

People are invited to visit the page and provide feedback.

They can also get there through SUNY Cortland’s homepage by typing “community commission” in the search box at the top of the screen, or by looking for it under the College’s Public Relations Department.

“We want all interested parties to know what we are doing, what we’re discussing and what kind of progress we’re making,” said Bruce Tytler, co-chair of the commission. “This page allows us to do that.”

Minutes from the commission’s Nov. 25 and Dec. 9 meetings are posted. The commission will meet privately on Jan. 6, and its subcommittee on community concerns will hold a public session on Jan. 8.

“It is very important to our mission that members of the Cortland community — neighbors, property owners, businesses, students, alumni and faculty — share their thoughts and ideas with us,” said Kimberly Pietro, the commission’s other co-chair. “We encourage people to use the new site to connect with us.”
