Comedian Greg Behrendt to Present

03/26/2009

Greg Behrendt, stand-up comedian and author, will perform his routine of "He's Just Not That Into You!" on Monday, March 30, at SUNY Cortland.

The comedy act begins at 7 p.m. in the Corey Union Function Room. Presented by the College's Student Activities Board, the event is free and open to the public.

Imagine if you only had one hour to tell people everything you had learned about life in an effort to keep them from screwing up theirs. The only catch is you have to make them laugh the entire time. This is the challenge comedian and New York Times best-selling author Behrendt has set for himself.

While not by his admission a relationship expert, Behrendt is the co-author, with Liz Tuccillo, of two best-selling self-help books, He's Just Not That Into You and It's Called a Break-Up Because It's Broken.

His comedy resume features HBO's "Mantastic" and last year's "Uncool," seen exclusively on Comedy Central, as well as many appearances on late night shows like "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," "The Late Show with David Letterman" and "Late Night with Conan O'Brien." The former consultant for "Sex and The City" and his wife, Amira Ruotola-Behrendt, are currently writing a third book, titled It's Just a Bleeping Date.

Behrendt was the consultant behind the popular movie, "He's Just Not That Into You," featuring Jennifer Anniston, Scarlett Johansson, Drew Barrymore and Ben Affleck. He hosted the self-titled "The Greg Behrendt Show" for Sony Pictures. The co-author of the book, Sex and the City, he was a consultant for three consecutive seasons on HBO's "Sex and the City."

Behrendt was named one of the 12 "Fun, Fearless Males" in Cosmopolitan magazine, along with Patrick Dempsey and Nick Lachey.

His comedy and writing has garnering praise from the Los Angeles Times, The New York Times and The Chicago Sun Times.
