Campus Champion

Khalia Brown, a junior speech and hearing sciences major, offers incoming freshmen and transfer students this advice: seize every worthwhile opportunity. One of 24 orientation assistants who introduced new students to campus earlier this summer, Khalia follows her own advice. She does it all, from leading the Black Student Union to singing the national anthem at Commencement to serving as a campus tour guide. A welcoming voice for prospective students and a model for current ones, Khalia’s strong work ethic and warm personality make her the perfect student ambassador for SUNY Cortland.
