Edward S. McCorduck

Edward S. McCorduck, who was a lecturer in the English Department from 2006 until 2010, died in 2021.

From an obituary printed in the Cortland Standard in 2021:

Edward S. McCorduck, 58, of Homer, N.Y., passed away unexpectedly at his home.

He was a man of great intelligence, receiving a master’s degree from Syracuse University, and a PhD from Cornell. He was even featured as a contestant on Jeopardy!, an accomplishment he was very proud of.

He began his career at SUNY Cortland teaching English, and then transitioned to online tutoring until his death. He had a strong love of animals, and could often be seen walking his two little dogs around the village of Homer.

He is survived by his mother, Judith McCorduck, his daughter, Brittany (Weston) Button, and his son, Brandon McCorduck. He is predeceased by his soul mate, Tracey McCorduck, and his father, Earl McCorduck.

The family has chosen to keep services private, but condolences may be directed to Perkins Funeral Home in Dryden or www.perkinsfh.com.
